This presentation will introduce several new and exciting advances in resuscitation science, technology and a systems based approach.  This type of approach involes the community, all EMS level systems and the hospitals, to work together to increase survival after cardiac arrest in a very afordable manner; in fact, an increase in margins has been seen. It will also uncover many of the things that healthcare providers do inadvertently to undermine a caregiver’s ability to effectively impact and improve sudden cardiac arrest survival.  This system is being utalized widley in the USA with great success in not only survival from cardiac arrest, but also creating strong community value by offering the highest level of afordable technologies that are scientifically proven and supported by the American Heart Association.  Realizing that sudden cardiac arrest, when seen more as a treatable disease rather than an end point, will bring together all facets of community and healthcare creating a sense of security and value in all who live within the system.  This systems based approach creates a solution for future challenges as sudden cardiac arrest rates have not declined and are in fact increasing, especially in the younger population.  Setting a new benchmark for the level of care offered to society is truley helping shape tomorrow together.
